Welcome to Beyond Birth Copenhagen. By booking services through this website or entering into a service agreement with Beyond Birth Copenhagen (“Beyond Birth”, “I”, “me”, or “your doula”), you agree to the following terms and conditions.
These terms are intended to create clarity, transparency, and mutual understanding between all parties.
1. Services
Beyond Birth Copenhagen provides postpartum doula support, postpartum preparation, newborn and maternal support services, postpartum nourishment services, and maternity/postpartum photography sessions.
Services may include emotional support, practical household support, meal preparation, infant feeding support, newborn care support, postpartum education, and photography services.
All services are non-medical in nature.
2. Disclaimer & Scope of Practice
Beyond Birth Copenhagen provides non-medical postpartum support only.
A postpartum doula is not a medical professional and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, clinical assessments, or medical procedures.
Clients are encouraged to consult qualified healthcare providers, including midwives, doctors, nurses, lactation consultants, psychologists, or emergency services where appropriate.
The role of the doula is to provide emotional, practical, and informational support and to help facilitate informed conversations between clients and their healthcare providers.
3. Limitations of Services
The following limitations apply to all doula services:
The doula does not replace medical care, mental health care, or emergency support.
The doula does not assume primary responsibility for the newborn or other children in the household.
The doula will not administer medication or perform medical procedures.
Clients remain responsible for decisions regarding their own care and the care of their baby.
The doula may assist with light household tasks related to postpartum recovery and newborn care, including dishes, infant laundry, tidying, meal preparation, and resetting shared spaces.
Major cleaning tasks including deep cleaning, bathroom cleaning, heavy lifting, or extensive housekeeping are not included.
For safety and insurance reasons, the doula may decline tasks outside the agreed scope of care.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the doula is not responsible for sole overnight or extended childcare.
4. Newborn Care & Supervision
The doula may care for the newborn while a parent rests, showers, or takes personal time within the home.
However:
The doula does not provide formal babysitting services.
Parents remain ultimately responsible for their newborn and household.
The doula reserves the right to decline being left alone with a newborn or children for extended periods of time if outside the agreed support arrangement.
5. Payment Terms
A non-refundable booking fee equal to 50% of the total contracted amount is required to secure postpartum support services and photography bookings.
The remaining balance is due prior to the first scheduled session unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Additional hours or services beyond the original agreement will be invoiced separately at the current hourly rate.
Invoices are payable via bank transfer unless otherwise stated.
Late payments may result in postponed or suspended services until payment has been received.
All prices listed on the website are in Danish Kroner (DKK) and include VAT where applicable under Danish law.
6. Right of Withdrawal
Under Danish consumer legislation, clients purchasing services online may have a 14-day right of withdrawal unless:
services have already begun with the client’s consent; or
the booking is for a specific date or time-based service, including photography sessions.
By confirming a booking and agreeing to services beginning within the withdrawal period, the client acknowledges that the right of withdrawal may no longer apply once services have commenced.
7. Refunds, Returns & Complaints
Due to the nature of personalised support services, completed services are non-returnable and non-refundable.
If a client is dissatisfied with any service provided, concerns should be communicated as soon as possible so that a reasonable resolution may be discussed.
Complaints relating to invoicing or services should be submitted in writing within 14 days of the relevant session or purchase.
8. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
General Cancellation Policy
Once a service agreement has been signed, Beyond Birth Copenhagen reserves time and availability specifically for your family.
For this reason:
the initial 50% booking fee is non-refundable;
cancellations made after booking may still require payment for contracted services depending on notice given and services already reserved.
If you wish to cancel contracted doula services entirely, written notice must be provided as soon as possible.
In cases of pregnancy loss, infant loss, medical emergency, or exceptional circumstances, cancellation terms may be reviewed compassionately and on a case-by-case basis.
Rescheduling of Sessions
Please provide a minimum of 48 hours notice for any request to reschedule a postpartum visit or photography session.
Sessions canceled with less than 48 hours notice may be charged in full unless due to illness, emergency, or exceptional circumstances.
Rescheduling requests are subject to availability.
Illness Policy
The health of mothers, babies, and families is deeply important.
If the doula becomes ill or unable to attend a session due to sickness, family emergency, or attendance at a birth, as much notice as possible will be provided and sessions will either:
be rescheduled; or
where appropriate, a trusted backup doula recommendation may be offered.
If the client, baby, or household members are experiencing illness, contagious symptoms, fever, vomiting, or infectious conditions, the client agrees to inform the doula as soon as possible.
Sessions may be postponed where necessary for the safety of all families.
Photography Session Cancellation Policy
Photography session booking fees are non-refundable.
Photography sessions may be rescheduled once with at least 48 hours notice.
In the case of severe weather, illness, birth recovery complications, or newborn health concerns, sessions may be rescheduled compassionately where possible.
If Beyond Birth Copenhagen must cancel a photography session due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, an alternative session date will be offered.
9. Pregnancy Loss or Infant Loss
In the heartbreaking event of pregnancy loss, stillbirth, infant loss, or serious medical complications occurring before or during contracted services, all services and payment obligations will be reviewed compassionately and individually.
Beyond Birth Copenhagen reserves the right to waive or adjust fees at its discretion in these circumstances.
10. Limitation of Liability
Beyond Birth Copenhagen shall not be held liable for:
medical outcomes;
decisions made by the client or healthcare providers;
complications arising during pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, or infant care;
indirect or consequential damages;
injuries, allergic reactions, or adverse outcomes related to products, food, or recommendations provided during services.
Clients participate in services voluntarily and accept full responsibility for their own health, wellbeing, parenting decisions, and household environment.
To the fullest extent permitted under Danish law, liability for any claim arising from services provided shall be limited to the amount paid by the client for those services.
11. Photography Usage & Intellectual Property
All photographs taken by Beyond Birth Copenhagen remain the intellectual property of Beyond Birth Copenhagen unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Clients may use delivered images for personal use and sharing.
Images may not be edited, filtered, sold, or used commercially without written permission.
Beyond Birth Copenhagen will never share client photographs publicly without prior consent.
12. Privacy Policy
Beyond Birth Copenhagen respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish data protection laws.

due date or postpartum details
home address (where relevant to services)
questionnaire responses
payment and invoicing information
How Your Information Is Used
Your information is used solely for:
providing and managing services
scheduling sessions
communication regarding bookings
invoicing and legal accounting obligations
improving client experience
Your information will never be sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Storage & Security
Personal information is stored securely and only retained for as long as necessary to fulfil legal, tax, or service obligations.
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are taken to protect personal information.
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
request access to your personal information
request correction of inaccurate data
request deletion of your information where legally permitted
withdraw consent to communications
lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority

13. Website Use
All content on this website, including text, branding, photography, graphics, and resources, remains the property of Beyond Birth Copenhagen unless otherwise stated.

14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Denmark.
Any disputes arising in connection with these terms or services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Danish courts.
